Where to Eat & Drink
Breakfast
Our "go-to" breakfast is La Colombe Coffee paired with Steve's favorite, an apple fritter, from Backdoor Donuts. For something heavier, head to Biscuits or Linda Jean's!
The Atlantic in Edgartown is Brooke's favorite restaurant on the island. She can't get enough of their Colossal Crab Cocktail and Watermelon & Feta salad. Atria-- known for its 4-pound stuffed lobster and exquisite burgers-- is another Edgartown restaurant frequented by the Hutchins-Jones Family.
If you need a scenic view with your seafood, Lookout Tavern in Oak Bluffs is the spot, with its great covered porch overlooking Nantucket Sound. Known for it’s amazing sushi, raw bar and seafood, Lookout also offers diners excellent lobster rolls, fried shrimp, and burgers.
The Net Result in Vineyard Haven has some of the best fried seafood on the island.
Nancy's is where we get our clam chowder! The Oak Bluffs restaurant made headlines in 2016, when Sasha Obama landed a summer job there. We should note, however, that Martha's Vineyard Chowder Company (right down the street from Nancy's) has been voted "Best Chowder of the Vineyard" year after year.
A lot of folks swear by Grace Church Lobster Rolls in Vineyard Haven. Every Friday night in the summer they serve lobster rolls, hot dogs, clam chowder, and pie. The proceeds go to benefit the church.
In Menemsha, the Home Port is one of our favorites. It’s a classic seafood “shack” with a great menu. Grab food to go and watch the sunset on the Menemsha Public Beach.
Seafood
Sweet stuff
Murdick's Fudge is an island staple. For ice cream, we love Ben & Bill's. Morning Glory Farm in Edgartown is the best spot for pies on the island. Finally, you CANNOT leave the island without a Raspberry Jelly or Buttermilk Back Door Donut.
Turn-up
Behind the Bookstore or The Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown are the perfect spots for a relaxing day drink. If you're looking for something more lively in Edgartown, the Atlantic restaurant transforms into a lounge at night with major views of the yacht-filled harbor.
In Oak Bluffs, we love to dance at the Island House, or grab a frozen drink at Donovan's Reef on the Oak Bluffs Harbor, next to Nancy's Snack Bar.
Late night
The Back Door Donuts opens its literal back door to customers willing to wait in a line for a hot donut, cinnamon roll, or large apple fritter (a cult favorite among the bakery’s fans) until 12:45 AM.
Craving something savory? Giordano's pizza & clam bar is a great option.
Also check out Fat Ronnie's Burger Bar and Sharky's Cantina.
